Understanding the Patient Journey
01 | BACKGROUND
Skysis has worked with many clients to assist in developing an understanding of the patient’s journey through a disease. Skysis’ commercial strategy experts also train clients on the methodology to complete robust patient journey assessments and determine how best to integrate relevant findings into overall brand strategy.
02 | CHALLENGE
An effective brand strategy includes detailed knowledge of disease epidemiology, relevant and responsive message development, and efficient physician targeting. However, a highly effective brand strategy also requires a detailed understanding of the disease from a patient’s perspective, the winding path of that journey through various decision points, and insights into how and when a product can be introduced into the journey to achieve a better patient outcome.
03 | METHODOLOGY
Skysis builds a narrative from the patient’s perspective of each step in her/his journey from disease diagnosis to the end of treatment. This narrative includes both quantitative market research and qualitative input received from patients, health care professionals, caregivers, and payers. Skysis then overlays this narrative against disease epidemiology and patient flow funnel analyses to identify specific opportunities for improved patient compliance and outcomes.
04 | OUTCOME
The primary goal of the patient journey is to generate new insights into how and when a client should invest to make the most meaningful impact in the patient journey. These insights also provide our clients with roadmaps to achieve greater product utilization and compliance.
